Planetarium Information

The Sanford Planetarium was the first in the state of Iowa. Public programs are given monthly as well as special programs by appointment throughout the week. Programs usually include slides introducing the constellations of the night sky, and then a visit to our planetarium, where various objects and constellations in the night sky are located and discussed.

Public Planetarium shows are given on the last Sunday of each month at 2:00 p.m.
Planetariums are also available by appointment to groups of 10 or more,
Monday through Friday.

Planetarium shows are always free and open to the public.
